MILLBURY – David D. Carpenter, Sr., 71, died Tuesday, March 8th in his home surrounded by his loving family.
David leaves his wife, Elaine R. (LaPrade) Carpenter; three sons, David Carpenter, Jr. and his wife, Susan of Maine, John Carpenter and his wife, Marie of North Oxford and Craig Carpenter and his wife, Cristin of Oxford; nine grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Edward and Marian (Loyd) Carpenter.
David worked for Rafferty Steal for 20 years and Currans Anchor Lounge for 30 years. He also owned and operated Dave Carpenter's Rubbish Removal in Millbury for 30 years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He enjoyed archery and was a member of the Auburn Sportsmen's Club for many years. David loved spending time with his horses. Most of all he loved to spent time with his family, his best friend Gary Schonborg and especially his grandchildren.
David's funeral, with military honors will be held Saturday, March 12th from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a graveside service at 11 a.m. in Central Cemetery, West Street in Millbury. Calling hours are Friday, March 11th from 5 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
