MILLBURY - Deborah F. (Flavin) Barrett, 48, of 3 Jackson Lane, passed on peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at UMass Memorial Medical Center. Her strong faith in Christ gave her the strength to fight against cancer over the past 13 years.
She leaves a devoted husband of 26 years, Kevin M. Barrett; a son, Jeremy M. Barrett; a daughter, Jennifer B. Kady and her husband, Keith M. Kady; her mother, Phyllis Estabrooks, of Winchester; 4 sisters, Janice Pero, of Haverhill; Dee Genetti, of Wilmington; Kathy Keiski and her husband, Brian, of Maryland; Beth Estabrooks, of Winchester; a brother, James Flavin Jr. and his wife Pam, of Arlington. She also leaves 2 step-sisters, 3 step-brothers, many nieces and nephews, 5 great nieces and 3 great- nephews. She lived in Millbury for 23 years.
Debbie graduated from Winchester High School, attended Bay State College and earned a degree in travel. She centered her life around her family and she and Kevin raised their children in a Godly home.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Monday, January 12, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Mulhane Home for Funeral, 45 Main Street, Millbury, and the Funeral Mass on Tuesday, January 13, at 10 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 10 Waters Street, Millbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pan-Massachusetts Challenge, in order to fund cancer research at Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Donations may be made online:
