MILLBURY- Dennis J. Kerr, 66, of Millbury, died at home Sunday, February 10, 2008.
Dennis leaves his wife of 46 years, Elena (Mastromattei) Kerr of Millbury, his son James Kerr and his wife Irene of Cromwell, CT, his daughter Lisa (Kerr) Ryan and her husband Daniel of Dudley, MA; his sister, Mary Griffith and her husband Thomas of Millbury, MA; two grandchildren Dylan and Haley Kerr of Cromwell, CT and several nieces and nephews.
He attended Millbury High School. He worked at Felters Company, Millbury, for over 30 years. Dennis was an avid sportsman enjoying deer and bear hunting as well as ocean and fly fishing. He was a member of the Auburn Sportsmen Club and the Massachusetts Bowhunters Association where he regularly participated in charitable sportsmen competitions.
He developed a passion for the outdoors as a young man participating in spear fishing and skin diving with the Worcester Frogmen Club. An ardent fly tier, he created several of his own patterns which he sold commercially.
His love for hunting and fishing often took him to such places as Alaska and Canada. He also enjoyed international travel with his wife. Known for his quick wit and dry sense of humor, he will be missed by his family and many friends.
His Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 13th in St. Brigid's Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours. Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Judes Children's Hospital P.O.
