MILLBURY - Donald G. Allaire, 69, died peacefully, after a long illness on April 29th in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester.
He is survived by his wife, of 46 years, Kathy (Jones) Allaire; a son, Anthony Allaire of Florida; a daughter Alicia Allaire of Connecticut, and four grandchildren; two sisters Louella Grenier of Florida and Donna Allaire-Wiggers of Leicester. He was predeceased by his parents George and Lorenette (Trottier) Allaire.
Born in Worcester, Donald resided in Millbury for the majority of his life where he and his father built Clearview Country Club. He was a 1964 graduate of Millbury Memorial High School and a 1966 graduate of the Stockbridge School of Agriculture receiving a degree in Turf Management. Donald also served in the US Army Reserve from 1967 until 1973. He founded Allaire's Power Equipment Service of Worcester and Northborough as well as Allaire's Heritage Garden in Millbury. Throughout his life he served on the Planning Board in both West Boylston and Millbury. Donald was a member and past president of the Rhode Island Driving Club, a member of the Collie Club of New England and the Millbury Old Timers. Donald enjoyed many past times such as gardening, working with his John Deere Tractor, visiting his grandchildren in Florida, and travelling the roads of West Millbury with his wife, in their horse and buggy. Throughout his life he had a passion for golf and enjoyed it to the very end.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 5th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 4th in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Worcester.
