MILLBURY - Donald W. Kasputis, 75, of 24 Wilson Road died Thursday, Aug. 30 in his home, after being stricken ill.
He leaves his wife, Grace E. (Stafford) Kasputis; two sons, Paul Kasputis of West Springfield and Philip Kasputis of Shrewsbury; two daughters, Joan Schutz of Millbury and Janet Gorham of Auburn; six grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by three brothers, Thomas Kasputis, John Kasputis and Edward Kasputis. He was born in Millbury, son of Frank and Mary A. Kasputis and has lived here all his life. He attended Millbury Schools.
Mr. Kasputis worked at New England High Carbon Wire Co. for 32 years. He then worked at Concord Wire Co. in Worcester for 4 years, retiring in 1988. He was a Seaman First Class in the Navy during WW II and participated in the invasion of Normandy. He was a recipient in the Millbury High School Operation Recognition program last year.
He was a member of the Dudley-Gendron American Legion Post in Sutton His hobbies were hunting, fishing, and gardening .
A funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, Sept. 5, in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, in the funeral home. Donations may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
