Donald Pokraka

Donald J. Pokraka, 85, passed away Thursday, Dec. 8th in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Donald leaves his wife of 59 years, Bernice R. (Army) Pokraka; four children, Dawn Bourassa of Hockley, TX, David Pokraka and his wife, Robin of Virginia Beach, VA; Daniel J. Pokraka and his partner, Matthew F. Masny of Worcester and Darla J. Shea and her husband, Scott of West Brookfield; six grandchildren, David, Michael, Timothy, Andrea, Brooke and Megan; five great grandchildren, Taylor, Tanner, Camryne, Gabrielle and Justin; two sisters, Dorothy Cozzens of Webster and Barbara Kupiec of Charlton; a sister-in-law, Sandra Perry and her husband, Jim; a brother-in-law, Victor Army and his wife, Valarie of Millbury; a special friend, Brian Kaseta of ME; a special niece, Ashlee Perry and many other nieces and nephews. Don is predeceased by his parents, Valley and Stella (Lisiewski) Pokraka; a daughter, Darlene Pokraka; a grandson, Shaun Pokraka; a son-in-law, Albert Bourassa and a sister, Phyllis Naramore.

Don was a Korean War Veteran of the United States Navy. He owned and operated DJ Pokraka Company for many years and later worked on the grounds crew at Pleasant Valley County Club for 24 years. Don was a member of the Charles F. Minney VFW Post 5279 of Millbury. He also was an avid fan of the New England Patriots, Boston Bruins and enjoyed watching golf. Don enjoyed the outdoors and most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends, especially all his grandchildren. A special thanks to VNA of Southern Worcester County Hospice for all their care and support.

Don's calling hours will be held on Sunday, Dec. 11th from 2 to 4 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.

His funeral service will be held on Monday, Dec. 12th at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow with military honors in Central Cemetery.
