Doris Anderson

Doris Irene (Smith) Anderson, 80, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2017 surrounded by her loving family after a short battle with lung cancer.

Doris is preceded in death by her beloved husband Bryant. Doris leaves two daughters, Nancy J. Sullivan and her companion, Greg Jenkins and Laura J. Anderson all of Worcester; five grandchildren- Daniel Sullivan and his girlfriend, Lauren Kender, Michael Collins, Timothy Collins, Kirsten Collins Leombruno and her husband, Andrew and Joseph Sullivan; a sister, Nancy J. Karlon; a brother in law, Thomas Londergan; nephew, Edward Londergan and his wife, Barbara; cousins Betty, Ronald and Susan Anderson, Linda and David Bernier; and her little dog Ginger.

Doris was born in Lawrence, the daughter of John C. and Ida A. Smith. She lived in Worcester for most of her life. After graduating from high school, Doris worked in several companies doing office work, and most recently at National Envelope Company before her retirement. She was also a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church for many years.

Doris enjoyed reading, baking, spending time with her family and friends, walking her dog in the neighborhood and taking her family for ice cream at Ronnie's. Doris was especially proud of her family heritage and culture, as noted in a 2016 Christmas Day article written in the Worcester Telegram & Gazette.

The family wishes to thank the Jewish Healthcare Hospice, and her primary care physician Michael Galica, for their dedication and compassion during Doris's illness.

Doris's calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 29th from 5 to 8 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.

Her funeral service will be held on Friday, June 30th at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at All Faith's Cemetery in Worcester.
