MILLBURY - Doris R. (Gibeault) Desorcy, 98, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, January 9, 2022.
Doris was born in Williamsville, CT, the daughter of Ovila and Orpha (Delage) Gibeault. Doris graduated from Millbury High School. She married her husband, Armand in May of 1947 and worked as an administrative assistant at the Felter’s Company in Millbury for 40 years. She retired in 1982 and enjoyed many years of traveling with Armand.
Doris is survived by her children, Diane Tremblay and her husband Ray of Worcester, her son Donald P. Desorcy and his wife Michelle (D’Auteuil) of Millbury, her daughter Denise Collins and her husband James of Auburn, and her son-in-law Armand White of Millbury. She is also survived by her siblings, Michael Gibeault of New Britain, CT, Philippe Gibeault and his wife Dorothy of Millbury, and her sister Priscilla Lavoie and her husband Edward of Oceanside, CA. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, her twelve great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 62 years Armand A. Desorcy, her daughter, Dolores M. White, and her brothers, Roland and Joseph A. Gibeault.
Doris was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Millbury, its choir, as well as a lifetime member of the Saint Ann’s Guild. She enjoyed painting and ceramics, as well as spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved her summers at “camp” on Ramshorn Pond where she and Armand owned a cottage, fostering many family memories.
Family and friends will remember and celebrate Doris’s life with a time of visitation on Thursday, Jan. 13th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.
Her Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, Jan. 14th at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 10 Waters Street in Millbury. Burial will follow at Central Cemetery, Millbury.
Face masks will be required in the funeral home and church. Doris’s Funeral Mass will be lived streamed and recorded for future viewing on her tribute page, located on the funeral home’s website.
