MILLBURY – Doris T. (Faron) Gwozdowski, 87, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 3rd with her loving family at her side, in the Millbury Health Care Center.
She is survived by her two loving daughters, Helen M. and her husband, Robert L. Carrignan of Millbury and Nancy A. and her husband, Joseph J. Tauper of Melbourne, Florida; also her precious grandchildren, Todd R. Carrignan and his wife Kimberly, Shawn E. Carrignan and his partner Debbie McDuffie all of Millbury and Casey Lynn Hochowski and her fiancé Timothy Libby both of Atlanta, Georgia; her beautiful great grandchildren, Sean, Sandra, Skylar, Atalia and Anna Carrignan all of Millbury; nieces and nephews. She was born in Millbury and is predeceased by her parents, Frank and Mary (Casey) Faron, her former husband, Edward Gwozdowski nine brothers and five sisters and her great grandson, Owen E. Carrignan.
She was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mother-in-law and sister-in-law. She had a special way of touching the life of everyone she met with her endearing dry wit and ability to tell a story with a twinkle in her eye and was loved by everyone in return. She had many special and wonderful friends. Doris' family would like to extend their heart-felt thanks to the staff or Millbury Health Care and especially to David Kamsu and Leta Roy for always comforting and easing her pain. We would like to especially thank Dr. Susan Moran for her long term care and friendship.
Doris worked at Paper Craft Greeting Card Co. of Worcester, Iandoli's Markets and was a caregiver to several families in town. Doris was a 1944 graduate of Millbury High School and was a former member of the Millbury Women's Club and a life-long member of St. Brigid's parish.
Her funeral will be held on Monday April 8th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury with a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery in Millbury. Calling hours are 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 7th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Owen E. Carrignan Sports Scholarship & Memorial Fund in care of the Millbury Federal Credit Union, 50 Main St., Millbury, MA 01527.
