MILLBURY Doris (Searles) Hoyle, 82, of 95 Elm St., died Wednesday, April 11th in the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence.
Her husband of 50 years Harry Hoyle Jr. died in 1997. She leaves a son, David Hoyle of Hanover; two daughters, Linda Sprague of Millbury and Debra Paris of Southbridge; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Martha Perkins of CT and Shirley Souza of Worcester; several nieces and nephews. Doris was born on June 2, 1924 and had lived in Worcester all her life before moving to Millbury five years ago. She was the youngest of eleven children and the daughter of Harry F. and Doris (Weaver) Searles.
Mrs. Hoyle graduated from Commerce High School in 1942 and then worked at the former State Mutual Life Insurance Company where she was a Senior Typist/Transcriber and fill-in supervisor, retiring in 1984 after 28 years. She was a member of Wesley Methodist Church and then attended Millbury Baptist Church after moving to Millbury.
Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday April 14th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Millbury Baptist Church P.O. Box 222 Millbury, MA 01527 or to the VNA Care Network, Inc. Development Office 120 Thomas Street Worcester, MA 01608-1280.
