OXFORD - Doris C. (Kowalchek) Kerswell, 70, of 36 Fort Hill Rd., formerly of Millbury, passed away Saturday Jan. 22nd at home, surrounded by her family.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Edward R Kowalchek Sr. and Lucy D. (Postol) Kowalchek.
She leaves a daughter, Nancy A. wife of Paul West of Oxford, with whom she lived; three sons, Albert C. Kerswell Jr. of Millbury, Stephen E. Kerswell of North Grafton and Ronald J Kerswell of Millbury; six grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters and many nieces and nephews. In addition she leaves a sister and best friend, Teresa M. Comptois of Webster; a brother, Walter S. Kowalchek of Auburn; her god mother, Helen Kelly of West Boylston; an aunt, Mary Santoro of Milford and her former husband, Albert C. Kerswell Sr. of FL. She is predeceased by a brother Edward R Kowalckek Jr.
Doris was an active member of Our Lady of Loreto Church. She has touched many hearts in her life. She also belonged to the Millbury Council on Aging, the Oxford Council on Aging and The Golden Age Club of Oxford. Doris loved to meet and travel with her friends from the senior centers. She also enjoyed bingo and occasional trips to the casinos and will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday Jan. 26th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd., Worcester. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday Jan. 25th in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude ChildrenTM)s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
