Dorothy is predeceased by her husband, George I. Graham, who died in 1978.
Dorothy was born in Framingham, daughter of Lillian and Martin Kavanaugh and step daughter of Frank L. Furbish. As a child she spent several years living with her grandfather in Nova Scotia, after which she returned to her family in Worcester and attended the former Classical High School. Several years after her marriage, the family moved to Sutton. She was a member of St. Mark's Church from its inception, being instrumental in beginning the CCD program there and until recently, was a member of their Prayer Shawl Group. In the 1960's she worked in the kitchen at the Sutton School Dept. and in the 1970's at the Paul Revere Insurance Company. In later years she worked for and then served as Director of the Sutton Council on Aging, receiving the Commonwealth's "Silver Dove" award from Governor Weld for the many volunteer hours spent at Sutton's Senior Center.
Dorothy was active in many groups and clubs, most notably being a 50 year member of the Sutton Women's Club and a longtime member of the Sutton Quilters. Her love of crafts showed throughout her home, in her embroidery, painting, quilting, knitting, basketry and lampshades. Dorothy had many wonderful friends throughout her life, whom she treasured. The loves of her life were her family, friends, pets and home. Her final years were spent at Christopher Heights in Webster and St. Camillus Nursing Home, where she was well cared for by many wonderful staff members. She will be dearly missed.
