Dorothy "Dottie" M. (Kennedy) Morin, 88, passed away Wednesday, April 29th, in the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester after a courageous thirteen year struggle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Dottie's husband, Marcel "Marty" Morin died in 2002. She leaves four children: Sharon M. Morin, James M. Morin and his wife, Janice, Gail A. McArdle and her husband, Kevin all of Millbury and Dorothy M. Walsh and her husband, Bartholomew of Sutton; nine grandchildren, Shannon, Shawn, Shane, Christopher, Jill, Joanna, Bartholomew, Zachary and Daniel; four great-grandchildren; Connor, William, Andrew and Penn; two brothers, Paul and Richard Kennedy and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, John and Lenna (Sawler) Kennedy, two brothers, John and Robert Kennedy and three sisters, Marion Pike, Rita Kimball and Marjorie Andersen.
Dottie attended Shrewsbury High School. She worked at the A & P Supermarket in Worcester where she met Marty, was married and lived in Grafton. In 1960, the couple bought and moved to the St. Charles Hotel in Millbury where they raised their four children and made countless and life-long friends over their many years together. Dottie worked for the town of Millbury as a crossing guard and helped out at the polls during town elections. She was a member of both the Millbury Lioness and the Assumption School PTA and Booster Club.
Calling hours are Sunday, May 3rd from 3-6 PM in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main Street, Millbury.
Her funeral service will be Monday, May 4th with a funeral mass at 11 AM in Our Lady of Assumption Church, 10 Waters Street, Millbury. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery in Millbury.
Contributions to honor Dottie's memory and to recognize the love and respect she had for "her firemen" in town, contributions may be made to the Millbury Firefighter's Relief Association, 127 Elm Street, Millbury, MA, 01527.
Her family would like to recognize and send their most heartfelt thanks to the 5th floor staff of the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester, her simply remarkable loving angels, for the tenderness they showed Dottie during her time there.
