Later in life she took those skills and worked as a home health aide for the VNA and cared independently as an aide for many elderly people and their families in the Millbury area late into her life. She loved the fact that she lived in her own home until she was 89 and fought to be independent. She maintained a sense of humor even when her memory failed her and always made visitors feel welcome.
Her funeral will be Monday, August 15th from Mulhane Home for Funerals at 45 Main St., Millbury, with Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the Mass, in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery in Millbury. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 100 North Parkway, #105, Worcester, MA 01605.
