DUDLEY- Douglas W. Field, 81, formerly of Millbury, passed away peacefully in his home on December 12th surrounded by his loving family.
Doug leaves his wife of 56 years, Nancy J. Field, his daughter, Melissa Damelio and son-in-law Frank Damelio, his daughter Michelle and her husband Marco Goncalves all of Dudley. He also leaves behind his wonderful grandsons Jacob and Nicholas Damelio, and Marcus and Max Goncalves.
Doug was born and raised in Madison, Maine. He was one of eight children born to the late Clifford and Winifred Field. He moved to Millbury in 1970 where he raised his family. Doug loved Millbury and made many lifelong friends there. He was the host to many memorable neighborhood parties.
Doug worked at Jamesbury Corporation for 36 years as a tool and die maker. He loved to listen to country music, play his guitar, spend summers in Kennebunk, Maine, play cards with friends, and watch football with his grandsons. He was indeed big on chocolate. His biggest joy was spending quality time with his family and his dog Bob. He was a truly devoted husband, father, and papa. His family and friends felt his love and devotion every day. He will be very missed here, but we know he will be having a ball in heaven listening to Johnny Cash and playing cards with his old lifelong friends and family.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Doug’s life by gathering for his Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17th in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street, Millbury. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery, Millbury.
