MILLBURY Earl P. George Sr. 77, of 363 Greenwood St., died Thursday morning, July 7th in St. Vincent Hospital, at the Worcester Medical Center.
He leaves his beloved wife, "hon" Eileen B. (Calcagni) George; five daughters, Kathleen A. Rasmussen of Auburn, Sharon Coyle of Thompson, CT, Earline G. Monahan of Morrisville, VT, Colleen George of North Oxford, and Kelley A. George of Millbury; three sons, Earl P. George Jr. and Shannon R. George, both of Millbury and Shane R. George of Putnam, CT; two brothers Ernest George of Northport, FL, and Harold George of Millbury; nine adoring grandchildren, two adoring great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Claude George of Millbury and Verne F. George of Worcester, two sisters, Florence Mongeon of Millbury and Irene Zuransky of Worcester.
Earl was a Technical Sgt. in the U.S. Army, stationed in Japan. He was a finish inspector employed at Wyman Gordon in Worcester, for over 40 years, retiring in 1990 and was a special police officer for the Town of Millbury, serving under Chief Fred Vulter Sr.. He was a member of the United Steel Workers of America and the Charles F. Minney VFW Post of Millbury. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
His funeral will be held Monday, July 11th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 11 a, m, in St. BrigidTM)s Church, 59 Main St., Millbury. Burial will be in St. BrigidTM)s Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 10th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. BrigidTM)s Church, 59 Main St., Millbury, MA 01527.
