MILLBURY Edith T. (Taft) Army, 95 formerly of 2 Pearl St., died Tuesday, Sept. 21st in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester.
Her husband, Victor A. Army Sr. died in 1976. She leaves two sons, Victor A. Army Jr. and his wife, Valerie of Grafton and Warren H. Army of Virginia; two daughters, Bernice R., wife of Donald J. Pokraka of Millbury and Sandra Lee, wife of James Perry of Sutton; a sister, Marjorie Mickelson of Englewood, Florida; eleven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A granddaughter, Darleen Pokraka and a great-grandson, Shawn Pokraka predeceased her. She was born in Millbury, daughter of Jonas F. and Agnes E. (Tranter) Taft and has lived here all her life. She attended Millbury High School.
Mrs. Army was a life long member of the First Congregational Church and the Millbury Historical Society and was a former member of the Millbury Golden Age and the Millbury Council on Aging.
Her funeral service will be held Saturday, Sept. 25th at 10 a.m. in the First Congregational Church, 148 West Main St., Millbury. Burial will be in Central Cemetery, Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24th at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury. Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of the First Congregational Church, West Main St., Millbury, Ma. 01527 or to the Radius HealthCare Activity fund, 29 Main St., Millbury, Ma. 01527.
