MILLBURY Edmond A. Hachey, 69, of 7 Carousel Dr., died Monday, Jan. 15th in his home, after being stricken ill.
He leaves his wife, Philia R. (Greenough) Hachey; three sons, Anthony J. and his wife, Patricia L. Hachey of Grafton, John and his wife, Suzette Hachey of Sutton and Scott S. and his wife Veronica Hachey of Charlton; his mother, Edrie M. (McGrath) Hachey of Millbury; five grandchildren, Lauren, Jessica, Jenna, Molly and Aidan. He was born in
Leominster and is predeceased by his father, Anthony J. Hachey. He graduated from Clark University in Worcester in 1966.
Mr. Hachey was a banker and worked at Worcester County Institution for Savings, the Westborough Saving and Amherst Savings, before he retired. He was very active in Millbury town politics and was a member of the Millbury Finance Committee. He was nominated for the Democratic of the Year by the Democratic Town Committee this year. He was formerly involved as a coach in the Millbury Little League System. He was an Air Force veteran during the Vietnam War and was a member of the former Singletary Sailing Association.
A funeral will be held Friday, Jan. 19th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. BrigidTM)s Church, 59 Main St., Millbury. Burial will be in Central Cemetery, Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
