WINTHROP, ME. - Edward F. "Ted" Garrepy Sr., 94, of 15 Main St., formerly of Orchard St., in Millbury, Ma.and Shrewsbury, Ma., died Monday, Dec. 23, in NicholsonTM)s Long Term Care Center
His wife of 68 years, Inez (Fitzpatrick) Garrepy, died in 1998. Mr. Garrepy is survived by his son, Edward F. Garrepy Jr. and his wife Mary of Winthrop; his daughter, Marjorie R. Gonya and her husband Peter of Millbury, Ma.; a son-in-law William Capman of West Boylston, Ma. a brother, Paul Garrepy and his wife, Ruth of Congress, Arizona; eight grandchildren, Mary Klemonsky and her companion, Robert Erickson of Enfield, Ct., Mark Garrepy and his wife, Sonya of Windham, Stephen Devoid and his wife, Judith of Plymouth, N.H., David Devoid of Townsend, Ma., Laurie Atchue and her husband Timothy of Worcester, Ma., Daniel Gonya and his wife Kelly of Lincoln, R.I., Amy Mian and her husband Asim of Groton, Ct. and James Capman of West Boylston, Ma.; nine great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A daughter, Ruth Capman of West Boylston and a sister and three brothers, predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, Ma., son of Emery and Lucy (Army) Garrepy and lived in Worcester Ma. prior to living in Winthrop and Millbury, Ma.
Mr. Garrepy was a forge maintenance foreman at Wyman-Gordon Co. in Worcester, Ma. for 32 years. While at Wyman Gordon Co. he received certificates of merit from Holy Cross College and Worcester Polytechnic Institute both in Worcester, Ma. He was the author of the manual "Building, Care and Maintenance of Steam Drop Forging Hammers".
The funeral will be held Friday, Dec. 27 from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, Ma. ( www.mulhane.com ) with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigids Church, 59 Main St., Millbury, Ma.. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery, Worcester, Ma.. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 26, in the funeral home.
