Edward H. McLaughlin, 87, passed away Saturday, Sept. 26th in his home.
Edward's wife of 63 years, Rosalind M. (Richard) McLaughlin passed in 2010. He leaves five children, Cheryl A. Richardson and her husband, Alan of West Greenwich, RI, Richard F. McLaughlin and his wife, Jean of Fort Myers, FL, Susan L. Larosee and her husband, Brian of Millbury, John E. McLaughlin and his wife, Carol of Oxford and Thomas J. McLaughlin and his wife, Cheryl of Auburn; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond McLaughlin and his wife, Rita of Chelmsford and James McLaughlin and his wife, Maureen of Millbury; two sisters, Kathleen Welsh of Holden and Ann Beesley and her husband, Donald of Millbury; three sister-in-law's, Grace McLaughlin of Grafton, Ann Bois of VA and Dorothy Rock of NC; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his daughter, Kelly McLaughlin; granddaughter, Jenna Upton; a brother, Francis McLaughlin and two sisters, Mary Bertrand and Margaret Chase.
Edward was born in Millbury to the late Francis J. and Hazel F. (Northrup) McLaughlin. He worked for Mass Electric for over forty years. Edward enjoyed gardening, camping, traveling, reading and attending Holy Cross College football games. He also loved spending time at York Beach in Maine. Edward enjoyed going to daily Mass and socializing with his close friends afterwards. The family would like to thank Joyce Kimungu for all her loving care and support over the last few months.
Edward's calling hours will be held on Thursday, Oct. 1st from 5 to 7 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main Street in Millbury.
His funeral will be held on Friday, Oct. 2nd with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton Street in Worcester. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery in Millbury.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Mass Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
