Edward Morin

September 11, 1933 — June 2, 2011

MILLBURY – Edward J. Morin, 77, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 2nd in his home, with his long time loving companion, Judy Banes at his side.

He leaves two brothers, Roger Morin and his wife, Terry of Florida and Paul Morin and his wife Jean of Douglas; five sisters, Lorraine Larue of Millbury, Bernice Seymour and her husband Raymond of NC, Anita Giro and her husband Steve of Millbury, Jeanne Dalton of Auburn and Janet Simonds of Tennessee. Other devoted family members include Leona and Nicholas Mazzamurro, Bonny Dattis, many nieces and nephews, and Susan and Andrew Feller and their children, Alex and Liana. He was predeceased by his wife, Wanda (Dattis) Morin and his son Michael, in 1983, his daughter, Julie, in 1999 and his parents, Ocasa and Matilda (Trlida) Morin. He graduated from Millbury High School in 1951 and then completed course work at Quinsigamond Community College and the Electronic Computer Institute of Programming.

A life-long resident of Millbury, Edward worked at the former Bay State Abrasives in Westborough for 35 years, retiring in 1991. He was an Army veteran during the Korean War, serving from 1954 to 1956. Ed was an avid outdoorsman with a particular love of deer hunting with his brothers. He loved to rebuild cars and he was known as the "go to guy" whenever small engines needed repair. Ed will be remembered as a caring, funny, and tenacious man filled with both tough determination and a gentle soul.

His funeral will be held Monday, June 6th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 5th in the funeral home. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
