MILLBURY - Edward F. Wall Jr., 89, passed away on February 14, 2012.
He leaves his wife of 60 years, Julia (Gadaleto) Wall. In addition to his loving and devoted wife Julia, Edward leaves behind three sons, Kevin Wall and his wife Tracy of Groton, David Wall and his wife Kristen of Millbury and Brennan Wall and his wife Beth of North Grafton. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Jason Wall, Rachel Wall, Ryan Wall and Christopher Wall. Edward was born in Worcester and was the son of Edward Wall Sr. and Bridget (Coyne) Wall of Worcester.
Edward was a World War II veteran who served our country in the Army in the Pacific region, including service on Iwo Jima. Following the war, Edward was a founding member of the Vernon Hill American Legion Post #435 and served the Post as its second Post Commander and in various other leadership roles. He was a graduate of Commerce High School and Becker College. He spent the majority of his working career in the construction trades and was a member of the Carpenters' Union, Worcester Local #107. The family would like to thank his many physicians and health care providers for their devotion and care. They especially want to thank the staff at Christopher House in Worcester for their kindness and the loving care provided to Edward during his brief nursing home stay.
Friends may call on Sunday February 17th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main Street in Millbury. His funeral will be held Monday, Feb. 18th from the funeral home at 10 a.m. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Brigid Roman Catholic Church, 59 Main Street in Millbury. Burial will be in Central Cemetery in Millbury. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Vernon Hill Post 435 American Legion Scholarship Foundation, 267 Providence St., Worcester, MA 01607.
