Edwin Baez

Edwin Baez, of Puerto Rico and Millbury MA, age 63 passed away at home on 4/6/25 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Edwin leaves behind his life partner, Sue Ann with whom he lived. He also leaves his sons, Edwin and Nelson and his wife, Marina; his daughter, Liz Marie; his stepchildren, Jared, Alek, Jordan and Alicia; his grandchildren, Edwin III, Jaydie, Sofia, Ivan, Anthony; step grandchildren, Mason and Marlo-Rae and great grandchildren, Zion and Aziel.

He is predeceased by his parents, Victoriano and Felicita and sister, Maribel.

His large family also includes his brother, Andres and his wife Wanda, brother, Nelson and his wife Maria, and his former partner, Maria, the mother of his children. He leaves nephews and nieces, Andre’s and his wife Abi, Silkia and her husband Joel, Vanessa and her husband Nano, Francheska, Jaime and Miguel.

Edwin was born in Rio Piedra PR and lived many years in Guaynabo PR. He graduated from Liceo de Arte y Tecnologia in 1982. Edwin worked as a mechanic until moving to Worcester in 1986 and started working at U Mass Medical School. He worked in the facilities department and was fondly called “the light guy”. He retired early in 2023.

Edwin had such a big smile that matched his big personality. He was quick witted, liked to joke, and enjoyed a good party, especially dancing to salsa. He was very generous and always willing to help others. Edwin liked scratch tickets, the Celtics and sometimes the Red Sox. Most of all he lived to spend time with his family and friends Willie and Gloria, YB, Jorge, Pete, James , Luis and many others.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate and remember Edwin’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Wednesday, April 16th from 4 to 7 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.
