Elaine D. Bousquet

MILLBURY - Elaine D. Bousquet (Auger), 85, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2023 at the University of Massachusetts, with Jack and Jill by her side.

She leaves her children, John “Jack” and his wife Nancy of Wales, Jill Carter and her husband Robert of Oxford. A daughter-in-law Joanne Jalbert of Southbridge and a son-in-law Robert Speight of Webster; 9 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was everyone’s Meme.

She was predeceased by her parents Napolean and Rita (Auger) Prunier, brothers Norman, Ronald Francis and Paul Prunier.

Predeceased by her loving husband Chandler J. Bousquet, daughter Gayle Speight, son Gary, and stepson Chandler.

Elaine was a hairdresser for over 60 years. She owned and operated Snip N’ Curl of Millbury out of her home. Other than spending time with her family and friends, her love was making her customers feel beautiful or handsome. She finally retired at the age of 84. She was a member of The Lady of Assumption Church in Millbury.

Prior to services per her wishes, Elaine chose to donate her body to research at UMass Chan Medical School, Worcester, MA. She felt very strongly about this and said the doctors and students would learn a lot from her body. She was such a strong and loving person. She would always say “You need to have faith, family and friends in your life”.

Family and friends will celebrate Elaine’s life by gathering for her Funeral Mass on Thursday, Sept. 12th at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Assumption Church, 10 Waters Street in Millbury with burial to follow in Central Cemetery in Millbury.
