She is survived by her son, James J. and his wife Marge of Sutton, her daughter Joan M. Lundin and her husband Bob, of Hollis, ME., her son Jeffrey M. and his wife Dolores of Holden, her son John P. of Rutland, and her daughter Joyce E. Miller and her husband Chuck of Lunenburg.

She is also survived by 10 loving grandchildren, Aaron Lundin of Wilson, WY., Shaun Gribouski of Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, Sarah Gribouski of Peabody, Heather Lundin of Hollis, ME., Eileen Gribouski of Mountain View, CA, Jill Lundin of Biddeford, ME, Jeffrey Gribouski of Burlington, VT, Monica Gribouski, of Boston, and Charlie and Scott Miller of Lunenburg. She is also survived by her brother Harry Bailey and his wife Angela of Sutton as well as many nieces and nephews.

Elaine was born in Millbury, the daughter of Mabel and Leverett Bailey. She attended the Millbury Public Schools and graduated from Millbury High School in 1944. She then worked for a time as a secretary at Melville Shoe Co. in Worcester. After all of her children were of school age she returned to work outside of the home as a lunch lady at Mountview School.

Elaine met Joe, the love of her life, in the late 40's and after a period of courtship that included Joe picking her up in the farm's dump truck for dates they were married on July 15, 1950. The children soon followed beginning with Janie being born in 1952 and concluding with Joycie being born 15 years later in 1967. Elaine devoted the rest of her life to first the raising of her children and then caring for Joe when he became ill later in life. She was the most devoted wife and mother one would ever find. If there was a Mother of the Year Award she would have won it every year since 1952. She was equally a wonderful, loving grandmother to her 10 grandchildren. They all enjoyed many sleepovers with Nana and always looked forward to her chocolate chip cookies and peanut butter squares.

Elaine's passion in life was her family. She loved having all of her children and grandchildren about her. Thanksgiving and Christmas were particularly special events at their home in Holden and revolved around Nana and Grampa. It was at these times that she was at her happiest.

Elaine was also a deeply religious woman and her faith gave her great strength during life's difficult times. She could often be seen for many years making the daily 2 mile roundtrip walk from her home on Steele St. to St. George's Church for daily Mass. Elaine's family would like to thank the staff at Coleman House for the loving, considerate, gentle care that they provided Elaine for the past several years.

Elaine's funeral will be held on Wednesday February 1st with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Catholic Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Calling hours will be on Tuesday Jan. 31st from 4 to 7 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury.
