MILLBURY – Eleanor M. (St. John) Garriepy, 84, of 95 Elm St., died Saturday, June 7th in St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, after being stricken ill.
Her husband, Albert A. Garriepy died in 1974. She leaves a son, Donald R. Garriepy and his wife Theresa, three daughters, Patricia A. Garriepy, Donna M. Donald and Deborah J. Allard and her husband Hank all of Millbury; a sister, Amy Shepard of Worcester; ten grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester and is predeceased by her parents, Peter and Edith (Knight) St. John, two sisters, Bertha Lee and Doris Lapearle and two brothers, Alfred St. John and Louis Pitchman.
Eleanor was a member of St. Brigid Church, the Auxillary of the Charles F. Minney V.F.W. Post and the Millbury Golden Age. She worked at Fairbanks Engineering in Worcester, then David Clark Co. and the Davies Manufacturing, before she retired in 1991. She then was a part time cashier at the former Fair in Worcester for five years.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, June 11th from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 10th in the funeral home.
