MILLBURY – Elizabeth A. (Coe) Foley, 84, passed away Sunday Sept. 13th in her home, after being stricken ill.
She leaves her husband, John J. Foley; eight children, Jack Foley and his wife, Deb of Sturbridge, Brian Foley and his wife, Tammy of Texas, Maureen Schneider and her husband, Joe of Shrewsbury, Dan Foley and his wife, Cindy of Oxford, Mary Tower and her husband Wayne of Dudley, Paul Foley and his wife Lynda of Florida, Tim Foley and his wife, Robin of Charlton and Peg Bishop and her husband, Tom of Charlton; 17 grandchildren, Chelsea and husband Matt and their children, Charlotte and Claire, Cara, Sage, Caitlin and husband Dan, Mary, Erin, Rebecca, Meaghan, Katie, Keenan, Colin, Madison, Ryan, Brandon, Brenna, Riley and Aiden; nephews and nieces. She was born in New London, CT and is predeceased by her parents, Russell and Teresa (Kiely) Coe and a brother, Walter "Buddy" Coe.
Elizabeth was a Registered Nurse, graduating from Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing and worked in obstetrics at Worcester City Hospital prior to raising her family. She also trained to be a mid-wife at the Margaret Hague Maternity Hospital in New Jersey. Elizabeth was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and sang in the choir, was a Eucharistic Minister, served on the Parish Council, and was the a director of the CCD Program. She was a member of the Millbury Women's Club, the East Millbury Community Association, where she was a leader of their children's programs, for many years. She also volunteered at the blood pressure clinics in Millbury. She loved to spend time with her family, vacationing at Cape Cod, traveled extensively with the Greendale Men's Club and loved to garden.
Her funeral will be held Thursday, Sept. 17th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton St. in Worcester. Calling hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16th in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Philip's Cemetery in Grafton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Visitation House and Pregnancy Care Center, 119 Endicott St. in Worcester, MA 01610.
