MIILBURY - Elizabeth (Betty) A. Riopel, 80, passed away peacefully at home amongst her adoring family. Betty was one of four children of Albert Voultour & Myrtle Tomolonuis who were born and raised in Millbury.
She will be remembered always by her brother Walter Voulture, sister Barabara Oleksiak, 7 children Chery Riopel, Michael Riopel, Leo Riopel, Brian Riopel, Susan Lajeunesse, Walter Riopel, Robert Riopel, her 16 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, sister Shirley Poulk, and her granddaughter Amanda Riopel.
Betty was beautiful inside and out and always had an open door and open to ear to family in need. In addition to her role as matriarch, she had many hobbies and likes including Boston Sports, gardening (especially her beloved weed wacker!), Bingo with her daughters, any lifetime movie, tending to her pool, and she was quite the Devil Dog connoisseur. All pale in comparison to the effort, love, and resolve she put into her family. She loved nothing more than to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Not only were most family gatherings were at her home in Millbury, but she would put effort, care, and love into each and every interaction. Nothing made her happier than to see the smiles of loved ones as they enjoyed the comrade and belonging of the family she created.
Family and friends will honor and remember Betty’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Saturday, Oct. 27th from 2 to 5 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury. Burial will be private.
