MILLBURY – Ellen C. (Santon) Cote, 76, passed away Friday Dec. 28th at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, in Worcester.
Ellen was born December 29, 1942, the daughter of Edward H. Santon Sr. and Margaret C. (Hanlon) Santon. She was the loving wife of 52 years to George Cote, who preceded her in death in 2016. She is survived by a daughter, Michelle Marie Welton and her husband, David, sons, George Allen Cote, Jr and his wife Angela and Andrew Thomas Cote and his wife, Julianne. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan and Molly, Candace, Emily and her husband, Alex, Mikayla, and Lauren; great grandchildren, Lilly, Logan, Ethan, and Roman. Also leaving behind a sister, Barbara Anusauskas and her husband George, a brother, Ronald Santon and his wife Karen, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Margaret Ellen-Claire Diggs, and a brother, Edward Santon Jr.
Ellen was an educator for many years, a member of the Millbury Women’s club, actively involved with Our Lady of Lourdes Church, and volunteered for the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, Jan. 2nd from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main St in Millbury. Her funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3rd in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton St. in Worcester. A private burial will be held at Central Cemetery in Millbury. Memorial donations may be made in Ellen’s name to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton St, Worcester, MA 01604 or The Multiple Sclerosis Society, of Greater New England, 101A First Ave. Waltham, MA 02451.
