Ellen Pojani

DAVENPORT, FL - Ellen “Irene” Pojani died on September 15, 2021 in Florida with her loving husband by her side. She was born in Pontiac, Michigan.

Irene was married to Christie Ligor Pojani for 68 years and lived in Millbury Massachusetts many years before retiring to Central Florida.  She was a stay-at-home mother, hairdresser, school bus driver, greenhouse nursery worker and waitress.  Irene was very involved with her children, loved organizing events in her communities and an active church member in both Massachusetts and Florida. She was a member of the Millbury Women’s Club and the Order of Eastern Star.

Her Siberian Huskies were her pride and joy and loved participating in dog shows with them.

She loved snow skiing and worked on the ski patrol at Mount Tom in Holyoke Massachusetts, camping, golfing and playing her favorite card game Cape Cod rummy.  Irene was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed conversations with anyone and everyone and was not shy about talking about her children.

Irene is survived by her husband Christie Pojani, her children Paul Gamahce and his wife, Sue, Lisa Morton and her husband, Cole, Michael Pojani and his wife, Debbie, Karen O’Donnell and Christann Martin and her husband, Glenn; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  She is predeceased by her grandson, Zachary Boken, her granddaughter, Erin O’Donnell and her son in law, John O’Donnell.
