MILLBURY – Eloise P. (Glover) Ducharme, 92, died Saturday, Jan. 9th at Care One at Millbury, surrounded by her loving family.
She leaves three daughters, Kathy Moreau and her husband, James of Yarmouth, Maine
Shirley Gaboriault and her husband, Norman of Millbury, MA, and Cindy Anderson and her husband, Dale of Spencer, MA; Her daughter-in-law and best friend, Lois Ducharme of Millbury, MA; two brothers, Everett Glover of Portland Oregon, Burton Glover and his wife Sophie, of Greenville, SC; eleven grandchildren, Suzanne, Kristin, Billy, John, Michael, Christine, Michelle, Dennis, Monica, Brian and Laurie; twenty-four great grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Lloyd Glover, her mother, Lucy (Dow) Glover Brown, her husband, John Ducharme, who died in 1992, a son, Bill Ducharme, who died in 2010, a sister, Miriam Fisher, who died in 2004 and a special friend, Joe Cobb who died in 2009.
Eloise served as a Trustee of the Millbury Savings Bank for many years, was a member of the Millbury Historical Society and the Millbury Women's Club, a member of the First Congregational Church in Millbury and was a volunteer at the Asa Waters Mansion.
Eloise had many interests and hobbies throughout her life. She enjoyed oil painting, sewing, knitting and crocheting. She also loved flowers and gardening, music and playing the piano. Most of all she enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She was a caring person who always thought of others and always had time to help out a family member or friend in need. She was also generous and spent many hours making fudge at Christmastime to give to all her family, friends and co-workers. She was a successful business woman, serving as the Comptroller for IBA, Inc. for thirty years, retiring in 1988. Eloise loved her home town and was proud to say she lived in Millbury her whole life.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Shrewsbury Unit at Care One Millbury for the excellent care given to Eloise. The love and compassion they show to their patients every day is outstanding. We also thank Compassionate Care Hospice for the love, support and care extended to Eloise and her family.
Eloise's funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14th in the funeral home. Burial will be in West Millbury Cemetery in Millbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Care One at Millbury Activity Fund, 312 Millbury Ave. Millbury, MA 01527.
