Elsie J Bitzer, 100, passed peacefully on March 5, 2017.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert K. Bitzer, and leaves her children David Bitzer and his wife Rosemary of Carlisle, MA and their son Ty and great grandson Titus; Philip Bitzer and his wife Linda of Tinley Park, IL and their children Jonathan, and his wife Amy, and Kimberly; and Lynne Carlson and her husband Richard of Sutton, MA and their children Scott and James.
Born and raised in West Roxbury, Elsie raised her family in Wayland, MA, and retired to Palm Harbor, FL and Sutton, MA. Elsie graduated from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and then worked as a commercial artist before raising her family. In recent years she tried her hand at watercolors and created many beautiful paintings. Elsie also studied the violin for many years and loved music. She enjoyed gardening and her porch was always filled with pots of flowers. She was also a prolific letter writer as well as an avid reader. She was happiest with a good book in her hands. A lover of animals, Elsie was known for her kindness, selflessness and generosity. She will be missed by many. We love you Mom.
Elsie's funeral service and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
