MILLBURY

MILLBURY- Elwyn A. Knowlton, 91, died Friday, Aug. 13th at Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester.

His wife Mary M. (Racicot) Knowlton died in 2019.  He leaves two sons, Steven E. Knowlton and his wife, Judy of Millbury, David J. Knowlton and his wife, Norma of Jefferson, a daughter Sandra J. (Knowlton) Graves and her husband, Kenneth of Millbury.  He also leaves the joys of his life, five grandchildren; Keith, Allissa, Benjamin, Zachary and Ashton; two brother-in-laws, James H. Racicot and his wife, Patricia of Millbury and Paul A. Racicot and his wife, Beatrice of St Augustine, FL. He also leaves many nieces and nephews and a grand-dog, Weber.  He is predeceased throughout by his parents, Cecile and Mary (Blair) Knowlton, three brothers Kenneth B. Knowlton of Worcester, Robert Knowlton of North Carolina and Stuart Knowlton of Stonington, ME, a son, Kenneth A. Knowlton and a granddaughter, Brittany Knowlton.

Elwyn was a devoted husband and father to his family.  He served in the Army during the Korean War then came home to work for 40 plus years at Astra Zeneca Pharmaceuticals as a machinist.  As his children were growing up he enjoyed family outings to the local lakes, attending flea markets and summer vacations to the beach.  He also enjoyed making his wife Mary as happy as possible their 60 years of marriage.  In more recent times he enjoyed watching Nascar racing, New England sports, making jigsaw puzzles, completing word searches, and family meals.  He will always be remembered for his bear hugs and heart of gold.

Due to Covid all services will be private. The family requests that any memorial contributions may be made to the St Jude’s Children’s Hospital in his name.
