Eric Dempsey

Eric W. Dempsey, 55, passed away peacefully after a long courageous battle with cancer in his home on Tuesday, Jan. 17th.

Eric leaves his long-time companion of 35 years, Terry A. Barber; 4 siblings, Barry P. Dempsey of Lowell, Jeffrey D. Dempsey, Kathy L. Hale both of Millbury and Debra J. Sullivan of Greensboro, NC; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Alexander H. and Shirley C. (Saucier) Dempsey.

Eric worked for the Millbury Public School System as a groundsman for many years, retiring in September of 2016. He took a lot of pride in his job, making the grounds of the Millbury Schools enjoyable for all the children. Eric enjoyed watching all the local sports teams. He also loved playing softball and bowling.

Eric's calling hours will be held on Friday, Jan. 20th from 5 to 7 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 21st at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Central Cemetery in Millbury.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
