MILLBURY - Eugene A. 'John' Caron, 77, of 198 Wheelock Avenue, died Saturday, Sept. 7, in St. Vincent Hospital, at the Worcester Medical Center, Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 54 years, Catherine J. (OTM)Connell) Caron; a son John H. Caron of Millbury; two daughters, Kathleen M. Mosczynski and Patricia L. Wassell both of Millbury; a brother, Wilfred Caron of Shrewsbury; three sisters, Alice Dulmaine of Millbury, Louise Bresnihan of Newport, Maine and Alma Scully of Charlton; a step-sister, Phyllis Scully of Millbury; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by a brother, William Caron, a sister, Eleanor Fritze and two step-brothers, Timothy and Donald Scully. He was born in and was a life long resident of East Millbury, son of Henry and Florence (Raymond) Caron. He graduated from Millbury High School in 1943 and then from Worcester Junior College, in Worcester.
Mr. Caron was an engineer at Wyman-Gordon Company in Grafton before he worked at the former New England High Carbon Wire Company for 15 years, until the company closed. He was a Navy veteran during WW II serving in the South Pacific.
He was a member and former Christian Doctrine teacher of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Worcester. He was a former Grafton Little League coach.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, Sept. 10 from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., ( www.mulhane.com ) with a Mass at 10 a.m. Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton St., Worcester.. Burial will be in St. Brigids Cemetery. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Heart Association, Massachusetts Affiliate, Inc., 20 Speen Street, Framingham, Mass. 01701-4688 .
