MILLBURY Eunice M. (Hicks) Agurkis, 86, of 13 Hilltop Dr., Saturday, Dec. 3rd in Parkview Specialty Hospital, Leicester.
Her husband, of 58 years, Joseph A. Agurkis, died last year. She leaves two daughters, Sharon A. Perreault of Conroe, Texas and Jo-Anne Agurkis of Worcester; two sisters, Elaine R. Warren of Millbury and Maxine J. Tower of Whitinsville; two granddaughters, Kelli A. Perreault and Carrie A. Perreault and a grandson, Christopher K. Perreault all of Houston, Texas. She is predeceased by four brothers, Ralph J. Hicks Jr., Vernon E. Hicks, Raymond F. Hicks and Stanley D. Hicks and one sister, Mabel Rixham. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Ralph G. Hicks Sr. and Laura E. (LaCrosse) Hicks and has lived in Millbury all her life.
Mrs. Agurkis was a Senior Clerk for the Millbury Public Welfare Department for 25 years and then transferred to the State Department of Public Welfare, retiring in 1972. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Worcester and graduated from Millbury High School in 1937. She enjoyed reading and spending many summers with her family at their home on Cape Cod.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday, Dec. 6th with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton St., Worcester. Burial will be private in Central Cemetery, Millbury. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donorTM)s choice. Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. Millbury is assisting the family with arrangements.
