Frances Briddon

MILLBURY - Frances Elizabeth (Wood) Briddon, 87, died Tuesday March 30th at the Life Care Center of Auburn, after a brief illness.

Frances leaves two sons, Jeffrey E. Briddon and his wife, Deborah of West Yarmouth and Scott A. Briddon and his wife Kristin, and their two children, Christopher S. and Lauren E. of Worcester; two brothers, Clifton E. Wood of Orono, ME and James R. Wood of Bangor, ME, and a sister-in-law, Tura (Briddon) Dudley of Sutton, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Frances is predeceased by her husband, Arthur Briddon III, a son, Arthur Briddon IV, and a brother, Donald S. Wood of Spokane, WA.

Frances was born in Lewiston, ME, to the late Grace E. (Hansler) Wood and Ernest O. Wood of Lewiston, ME. She graduated from Lewiston, High School, in 1951. She married Arthur Briddon III from Millbury and moved to Millbury in 1956 and together they owned and operated the Millbury Journal in Millbury until Arthur’s death in 1989 and then continued with her son, Jeffrey until she retired in 2004. She spent her summers at the family cottage in Winthrop, ME, and was an avid reader. She loved and adored her family and will be greatly missed.

Services and burial will be private.
