SUTTON Frances S. (LeClaire) Gatto, 68, of 23 Hutchinson Road, died Thursday, Nov. 4th in her home, amongst family, after an illness.
She leaves her beloved husband of fifty years, Francis A. Gatto; four daughters, Debra, wife of John Donovan of Marco Island, Fl., Teresa, wife of Mark Jannery of Millbury, Robin wife of Al Landers of Marco Island, Fl. and Lisa wife of David Cellucci of Douglas; a son, Michael F. Gatto of Cambridge; her mother-in-law, Rita (Dube) wife of Ernest Gatto of Webster; 16 grandchildren; many brothers-in law and sisters-in-law. She was born in Westfield, daughter of John B. and Melina (Hood) LeClaire. She is predeceased by an only sister, Veronica Richards. She attended Sacred Heart Parochial School and is a 1953 graduate of Mary Wells High School in Southbridge.
After marrying on October 30, 1954, Mr. and Mrs. Gatto resided in Westborough and then moved to Sutton in 1974. She worked assisting her husband with his mechanical contracting business, F.A. Gatto, Inc. of Worcester. Frances enjoyed taking the seat of co-pilot aside her husband as they flew to various destinations attending the Airplane Owners and Pilots Association, plantation events. Mr. Gatto was proud to have his wife as best friend and companion for these and many other pursuits. They enjoyed traveling together via recreation vehicle throughout the country as Mr. Gatto entered the ATA circuit competitions. Some of her favorite personal past times were gardening and crocheting beautiful heirloom pieces for her family. Frances was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is much loved and will be greatly missed by all.
Her funeral will be held Monday, Nov. 8th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. MarkTM)s Church, 356 Boston Rd., Sutton. Burial will be in West Sutton Cemetery. Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7th, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, Ma. 01701.
