Frances M. (Chrobak) Murphy, 94, of Newburgh, IN, formerly of Auburn, died Monday, Nov. 25th in Indiana.
Her husband, James F. Murphy, died in 1992. She leaves daughter, Kathleen M. Murphy and son-in-law Michael Mulligan of Newburgh, IN, with whom she lived and daughter Karen Mercer of Sewell, NJ. She leaves 3 grandchildren, Matthew, Michael and Marissa Mercer all of Sewell, NJ. She leaves one sister, Mary (Chrobak) Giro of North Kingston, RI and brother Stephen Chrobak of Spencer and 34 nieces and nephews She was born in Worcester and is predeceased by her parents, George I and Anna (Kubicki) Chrobak, four brothers, Albert, George, Karoll, and Edward Chrobak and one sister Adele (Chrobak) Siminiski.
Frances graduated from Sutton High School in 1937, was a graduate of Girls Trade School in Worcester, MA in 1939 and David Hale Fanning School of Business in 1944. She worked as a dressmaker at Elaine's Dress Shop, bookkeeper at Thomas Smith, Co, and office manager at Chase Paper Company. She also taught religious education in St. Joseph's parish for over 20 years and worked at the rectory,
Mrs. Murphy's funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Dec. 2nd at 11:00 am in St. Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford St. Auburn. Burial will be Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester. Visitation will be from 9:00am to 10:00 am on Monday, Dec. 2nd at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Millbury St, Millbury, MA.
