MILLBURY – Francis E. Asselin, 92, formerly of Mayfair Drive, died Thursday, August 7th in Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, Worcester.
His wife, Elizabeth I. (Paquette) Asselin died in 1989. He leaves two sisters, Rita I. Scarry and Eva Pinto both of Worcester; a brother, Edward O. Asselin of Paxton; several nieces and nephews. Francis was born in Framingham and is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Ida (Breton) Asselin; a daughter, Frances Asselin; three sisters, Emma Letourneau, Ida Bruso, and Mary Pierce and two brothers Joseph and William Asselin.
Francis worked for Norton Company in Worcester for 25 years. He was a member of the Charles F. Minney VFW Post 3329 and the Greendale Retired Men's Club where he was a member of the bowling team. He was an Army veteran serving his country during World War II.
His Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, August 12th from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St., Millbury. Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery, Millbury. A calling hour will be held 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St., Millbury, Ma, 01527 or to the donor's choice.
