Francis R. Beaudoin, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, June 15th after a long illness.
Francis leaves his loving wife of 65 years, Yvonne M. (Gemme) Beaudoin; five children, Dianne wife of William Philbrook of Sutton, Dennis Beaudoin of Worcester, Marie Beaudoin of Hopedale, James Beaudoin of Millbury and Denise wife of John Krula of Sutton; fourteen grandchildren, Michael Philbrook, Michelle Ouellette, Nicholas Philbrook, Melissa Ulliani, Steven Philbrook, Patrick Beaudoin, Robert Beaudoin, Russell Beaudoin, Ryan Beaudoin, David Beaudoin, Katelyn Beaudoin, Jonathan Beaudoin, Victoria Krula and John F. Krula, Jr.; fourteen great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, Fred and Mary (Boucher) Beaudoin; two sisters, Margaret White and Theresa Martinelli; two brothers, Homer and Romeo Beaudoin.
Francis worked as a carpenter for several construction companies before starting his own contracting business in the 1960's. He was a member of the Study and Building Committee for Millbury's new town hall. He was on the Study and Building Committee for the Senior Center and was Clerk of the Works while under construction. He worked at the Millbury Senior Center from the planning stages until his retirement in 2007 and was instrumental in restoring the railroad car to where it is today. Francis was a fire fighter for the Millbury Fire Department for 21 years, retiring as a Lieutenant of Engine 1.
Francis was on the committee to form Boy Scout Troop 110 of Assumption Church and was Scout Master for several years. He chaperoned for Powers Star Harmony and Millbury Girls Fife and Drum Core. He coached Millbury Little League baseball for three years when it first started.
Francis's calling hours will be held on Thursday, June 18th from 5 to 8 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals 45 Main Street in Millbury. His funeral will be held on Friday, June 19th with a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 10 Waters Street in Millbury. Burial will follow in Central Cemetery in Millbury.
