MILLBURY – Francis J. Gaudere, 98, passed away Thursday, May 18th in St. Vincent Hospital, after a brief illness.
Francis leaves three daughters, Jean Crizer of Ashby, Mary Daniels and her husband, Geary of Dudley and Patricia Carlo and her husband, John of Worcester; a son, William Gaudere and his wife, Cynthia of Hudson; eight grandchildren, Megan Daniels, Maura Bruell, Taylor Daniels, Ryan Daniels, Justin Daniels, Brian Crizer, Kevin Crizer and Matthew Carlo; eight great grandchildren; a niece, Patricia Naples; other nieces and nephews. Francis is predeceased by his wife, Bernice M. “Bunny” (Dwinell) Gaudere and a son in law, Arthur Crizer.
Francis served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He was proud of being in the Battle of the Bulge and was actively involved in all aspects of promoting the history of the battle to others. Francis was a charter member of the Dudley Gendron American Legion Post 414 in Sutton and a member of the VFW Post 3329 in Millbury.
Family and friends are invited to remember Francis’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Tuesday, May 23rd from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street, Millbury.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated following the visitation at 11 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street, Millbury. Burial with military honors will follow in Central Cemetery, Millbury.
