SUTTON Francis A. Harmon, 87, of 109 Mendon Rd., died Saturday, April 7th in Radius Health Care Center, Southbridge.
He leaves his wife, Ruth A. (Amster) Harmon; a son, Eugene J. Harmon of Harwich; four daughters, Lois Land of Mountain Ranch, CA, Donna Harmon of Santa Cruz, CA, Ruth Lorusso and Delia "Deedee" Harmon both of Sutton; seven grandchildren, Julie Jonokas, Andrea Arter and Jonathan, Caleb, Malachi and Ezra Land; three great-grandchildren, Glorianna Joy Junokas and Joshua and Grace Land; a sister, Margaret Ford of Worcester. He was born in Worcester, and is predeceased by his parents, Eugene M. and Margaret V. (Monahan) Harmon, a brother, Eugene Harmon and a sister, Rita Belanger.
Mr. Harmon retired from the U.S. Steel and Wire Company in Worcester. He was an Army veteran of WW II, serving in the Signal Corp. in Alaska. He was a member of the American Legion Post #3657 in Worcester and he was a 3rd Degree Knight of the Columbus Council 365 in Whitinsville.
His funeral will be held Thursday, April 12th from Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. AnneTM)s Church, Main St., Manchaug. Burial will be in West Sutton Cemetery in Sutton. Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 11th in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Activity Fund of Radius Health Care Center, 84 Chapin St., Southbridge, MA 01550.
