MILLBURY – Francis E. "Frank" May, 74 died Tuesday, June 8th in the Millbury Health Care Center, after an illness.
He leaves; two daughters, Darlene R. Vaillancourt and her husband, Thomas of Millbury and Linda A. Chauvin and her husband, Neil of Worcester; four grandchildren, Brandon and Jillian Vaillancourt and Ty and Brett Chauvin; three brothers, Kevin May of CA, Robert May of CA and Martin May of FL; eleven sisters, Sr. Virginia May of the Sisters of St. Francis of NY, Grace May of Millbury, Barbara Boria of Millbury, Regina Bleau of Millbury, Margaret May of South Yarmouth, Maureen May of Millbury, Elizabeth Coleman of Millbury, Marion Falcone of Shrewsbury, Catherine Lapointe of Worcester, Mary Congdon of Southbridge and Sheila Courchaine of North Brookfield; his former wife, Joyce J. (Belsito) May of Millbury. He was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his parents, John F. and Anna G. (Kelliher) May, a sister, Helen Norton, four brothers, William, Lawrence, Howard and John May.
Francis worked at the Felters Company, New England High Carbon Wire Company and County Heat Treat all in Millbury. He graduated from Millbury High School in 1954 and was an Army veteran. Frank enjoyed watching the Red Sox and the Patroits, family gatherings, afternoons with his friend Bob and humoring people with his quick wit and famous one liners. He will be sorely missed by many.
His funeral will be held Saturday, June 12th from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in St. Brigid Cemetery in Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 11th in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the May Family Scholarship, which is awarded to a Millbury High School graduate yearly, in care of the Fidelity Bank, 97 Elm St., Millbury, MA 01527.
