SUTTON/FLORIDA – Francis W. Silun, 84, of Florida, formerly of Sutton, died Friday, May 30th in his daughter's home in Sutton.
He leaves his wife of 54 years, Margaret M. (Hebert) Silun; three sons, Paul E. Silun of Boylston, Bruce W. Silun of Sutton and Francis W. Silun, Jr. of Sutton; three daughters, Judith A. Silun of Sutton, Nancy J. Thompson of Rockland and Cheryl L. Amaral of Oxford; two sisters, Helen M. Ordung of Sutton and Louise M. Botica of Florida; six grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Francis was born in Sutton and is predeceased by his parents, Walter W. and Genevieve P. (Sroka) Silun; a brother, Stanley J. Silun and a sister, Julia G. Tebo.
Francis taught carpentry at Worcester Boys Trade High School in Worcester and at Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational High School, retiring in 1984. He was an Army Air Force veteran during WW II and was a life member of the Dudley-Gendron American Legion Post in Sutton.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, June 4th from the Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St. in Millbury, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mark's Church, 356 Boston Rd. in Sutton. Burial will be in Howard Cemetery in Sutton. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 3rd in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to UMASS Memorial Hospice, 650 Lincoln Street Worcester, MA 01605.
