MILLBURY Frank "Westy" DiPilato, 85, of 17 Johnson St. Millbury, died Saturday, June 4th in Radius Health Care Center, Millbury.
He leaves his loving wife of 62 years, Constance (Colarusso) DiPilato; four daughters, Paulette wife of George M. MacKoul and Doreen DiPilato both of Millbury, Frances Sclar of Grafton and Jeanne wife of Paul R. Murphy of Sutton; two brothers, Nicholas DiPilato of Florida and Libro DiPilato of Shrewsbury; seven grandchildren, Tina Pulaski, Barry Sclar Jr., Lisa Bristol, Craig Sclar, Bryan Sclar, Michael MacKoul and Matthew MacKoul; eight great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by a daughter, Constance DiPilato who died in 1977 and two brothers, Vincent and Albert DiPilato and a sister, Jenny Gonet. He was born in Bisceglia, Italy, Province of Bari, son of Matteo and Rosa (Carelli) DiPilato and has lived in Millbury most of his life.
Mr. DiPilato was a manager of the Mt. Carmel Recreation Center in Worcester for 41 years, before he retired. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and candle pin bowling and won many bowling championships, including the T&G Tournaments. He played softball and pitched for the former Worcester Hawks and Riley Stoker, in Worcester.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 7th in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 Main St., Rt. 122A, Millbury. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 6th, in the funeral home. A Memorial Mass will also be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 11th in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel St. Ann Church, 24 Mulberry St., Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association 330 Congress St., Boston, MA 02210.
