MILLBURY- Gail L. (Higginbottom) Higginbottom, 70, of 21 Braney Rd., died Wednesday, April 30th in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Worcester.
She leaves her loving husband, of 50 years, Kenneth W. Higginbottom; three sons, Barry K. Higginbottom and his wife Cynthia of Grafton, Kevin S. Higginbottom and his wife, Paula and Mark C. Higginbottom and his wife Pamela all of Millbury; seven grandchildren, Danielle, Bryce, Erika, Kyle, David, Amy and David and his wife Jess; one great grandchild, Joshua; a sister, Carol wife of Donald Mead of Shrewsbury and many nephews, nieces and cousins. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Cyril and Elsie ( Carlson) Higginbottom. Gail was a life long resident of Millbury, graduated from Millbury High School in 1956 and attended Quinsigamond College. She played on the undefeated Millbury High School basketball team of 1955 and also played softball and was an avid bowler.
Gail worked at Superior Oil Company in Millbury for 15 years, retiring in 2003. Previously she worked at the Millbury Sutton Chronicle, was a secretary and preschool teacher at the Millbury Federated Church, worked at the Westborough Savings Bank, the Millbury Savings Bank and the Millbury National Bank. She was a member of the Millbury Federated Church and was involved in various boards and committees and sang in the church's choir for many years. Gail will be remembered as a loving and caring person committed to her family, church and her faith in the Lord. She is loved by all.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 5th in the Millbury Federated Church, 20 Main St. in Millbury. Burial will be in Central Cemetery, in Millbury. Calling hours are 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 4th in Mulhane Home for Funeral, 45 Main St. in Millbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of the Millbury Federated Church, 20 Main St., Millbury, MA 01527.
