MILLBURY- Gary S. Dean, 51, died Friday, Aug. 1st after being stricken ill, while on vacation in Maine.
He leaves his wife of 29 years, Susan M. (Fabbri) Dean; two sons, Craig A. Dean and Kyle R. Dean both of Millbury; his mother, Norma L. (Gravel) Dean of Chicopee; two brothers, Rick Dean of Chicopee and Jeff Dean of Houston, TX; two sisters, Robin Hurst of Falmouth and Karen Hensley of Simsbury, CT; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his father, Roy J. Dean. He graduated from Western New England College with a degree in Electrical Engineering and from Union College in New York with a Master in Computer Science.
Gary was an Engineering Manager in the Storageworks Division at Hewlett Packard in Marlborough. Gary was a father, husband, son, brother, coach and friend. He was proud to coach the kids of Millbury and was an avid golfer, loved to fish and loved the Red Sox. He shared all this and more with his sons and his wife. He was loved by all and was a great man.
His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6th in the First Congregational Church, 148 West Main St. in Millbury. Burial will private in Central Cemetery in Millbury. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5th in Mulhane Home for Funeral, 45 Main St. in Millbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gary Dean Student Athletic Scholarship, in care of the Millbury Federal Credit Union, 50 Main St., Millbury, MA 01527.
