MARLBOROUGH - Gene “Gino” Salvatore Rano, 71, died peacefully Monday February 14, 2022 after a long battle with many illnesses. Gene was surrounded by his family his last days before seeing that final checkered flag waive.
Gene leaves two sons: Jerry and wife Kristy Gaulin of Palmer, Nicholas and wife Shannon Rano of Millbury; brother, Frank D. Rano of Millbury; Grandchildren; Alexis Rano “gramps meatball”, Phoenix Rano “gramps litl jabroni”, Andrew, Evan, and Kelsey.; nephews and nieces Robin, Michael, Robby, Dante, Tia along with previous wife of 18yrs Linda Bombard whom he loved till his final days.
Gene was born in Worcester and is predeceased by his parents, Carmela and John Rano. Gene was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade and served in the U.S. Army.
Gene loved all things racing. Whether it consisted of 2 wheels, or four, one thing remained throughout his life, his love for the fast lane. Gene embraced the true golden age of hot rodding and passed that onto his children and grandchildren.
Family and friends will honor and remember Gene’s life with a time of visitation on Friday, Feb. 18th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.
His funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 19th at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
A celebration of life will be held afterwards locally to all family and friends at the VFW 16 S. Main St. Millbury.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the donor’s choice.
