George J. Boria, 79, passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 3rd with his loving family by his side.

George is survived by his beloved partner-in-life of 30 years, Linda R. Swenson; his daughter, Nicol Cro and her husband, David of North Brookfield; his son, Jon Boria of Charlton; three grandchildren, Cecilia Rose Cro, Katherine Ann Boria and Samuel Jon Boria.

George was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in North Africa.  He was awarded the Purple Heart.  He attended Mount Saint Charles Academy in Woonsocket, RI and completed his education at Millbury High School.  George owned and operated Boria Construction Company in Massachusetts and a marina and pool installation company in Ormond Beach, Florida.

George’s passion for fishing brought him to the shores of Costa Rica, Georgia and Florida.  He was an avid gardener and spent his time cultivating flower and vegetable gardens.  George was especially proud of his organic tomatoes and family and friends were pleased to be rewarded with years of bountiful vegetables. He built his own race cars and was a New England Drag Racing Champion. The National Republican Congressional Committee recognized George as the 2002 Republican of the Year from Massachusetts and 2003 Businessman of the Year.

George had a zest for life and loved sharing his sense of humor with friends and family.

Family and friends will honor and remember George’s life by gathering for calling hours on Sunday, Nov. 5th from 3 to 6 p.m. in Mulhane Home for Funerals, 45 N. Main Street in Millbury.

His funeral service will be celebrated on Monday, Nov. 6th at 10 a.m. in St. Brigid Church, 59 N. Main Street in Millbury.  Burial with military honors will follow in Central Cemetery, Millbury.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box, 417005, Boston, MA 02241.
